The best early UCL Fantasy Matchday 5 transfers are Nicolás Paz, Lamine Yamal, Kylian Mbappé, Fabián Ruiz and Tasos Douvikas. Como have the strongest value fixture at home to AEK Athens, Barcelona have the best premium attacking fixture away to Sabah and Real Madrid host PSV Eindhoven.
That is the shortlist, not an instruction to make transfers on 6 November. The deadline is 17:45 GMT on Tuesday 24 November, after an international break and another round of domestic matches. Build the plan now, then buy when the minutes and availability picture is clearer.
My current priority order is Paz, Yamal, Mbappé, Fabián and Douvikas, with Jacobo Ramón the best budget defender and Atlético de Madrid's Alejandro Grimaldo the most interesting fixture-led defensive alternative.
Prices, ownership, minutes and Fantasy points correct as of 07:32 GMT on Friday 6 November 2026.
Best UCL Fantasy Matchday 5 fixtures to target
- Como vs AEK Athens, Tuesday 24 November: the clearest value route, with Paz, Douvikas and Ramón all offering different scoring paths.
- Sabah vs Barcelona, Wednesday 25 November: the outstanding premium midfield fixture and a useful second-night captain slot.
- Real Madrid vs PSV Eindhoven, Tuesday 24 November: Mbappé combines secure European minutes, penalties and first-night captaincy.
- Paris Saint-Germain vs Roma, Wednesday 25 November: a strong home attack, although choosing the right midfielder matters more than simply buying the latest scorer.
- Atlético de Madrid vs Viking, Wednesday 25 November: the cleanest defensive fixture on paper, with a good continuation away to PSV in MD6.
Inter at home to Stuttgart and Leipzig at home to Lens are also attractive. The reason they sit outside my top five is player certainty. Djed Spence has a high ceiling but only 161 league-phase minutes, while Leipzig's points have been spread across several modestly priced midfielders.
Use the full UCL Fantasy fixture list to check the Tuesday-Wednesday split before committing to a transfer. The best squad is not just a collection of good fixtures. It needs a captain on both nights and enough bench flexibility to use manual substitutions properly.
Nicolás Paz is the best first transfer
Paz is my number one MD5 target. The Como midfielder costs €7.0m, has 43 Fantasy points and has played 318 of a possible 360 league-phase minutes. His three goals, five assists and 15 ball recoveries give him more than one route to a return.
The AEK fixture is the immediate attraction, but the role makes the pick. Paz scored 13 points in Como's 9-1 win at Lens and has been central to their attack throughout the competition. Midfielder classification also gives him an extra point per goal and a clean-sheet point that Douvikas cannot collect.
Douvikas remains an excellent alternative. He is €6.5m, has 37 points and has scored six Champions League goals, including a hat-trick at Lens. He has returned in every league-phase match so far. If selling a premium forward funds two upgrades elsewhere, Douvikas can improve the whole squad rather than merely fill one position.
I would not automatically buy both. Como travel to Real Betis in MD6, so the double-up has a shorter shelf life than the MD5 fixture suggests. Paz is the better first pick; Douvikas is the better structural move when the saving matters.
The budget route is Ramón. At €4.0m, he has played all 360 minutes, scored 28 points and made 34 ball recoveries. That recovery floor is far more repeatable than chasing a defender who happened to score twice in MD4. Compare the three Como options with the site's player comparison tool before deciding where the club slot helps most.
Yamal is safer than Raphinha this early
Barcelona's visit to Sabah is the best fixture for a premium midfielder. My first choice is Lamine Yamal at €10.0m. He has 41 points, has played every Champions League minute and has produced three goals and four assists.
Raphinha has the more explosive recent score. His two goals against Aston Villa brought 15 Fantasy points, taking him to 33 for the season. He is also €0.5m cheaper than Yamal and a serious Wednesday captain option.
The difference is minutes. Raphinha has played 201 league-phase minutes, compared with Yamal's 360. I like Raphinha's ceiling, but Yamal is the transfer I can recommend before team news. If both remain fully available close to the deadline, the price saving can make Raphinha the sharper aggressive pick.
João Cancelo deserves attention in defence. He costs €5.0m, has played every minute and has 26 points from a goal, two assists, 15 recoveries and Barcelona's clean sheets. Sabah away gives him attacking and defensive upside. The drawback is MD6 at home to Manchester City, which makes him more of a one-match transfer than Ramón or an Atlético defender.
Mbappé is the premium forward to keep or buy
Mbappé costs €11.0m, is owned by 56 per cent of managers and has 32 points. Ownership is not the reason to buy him. The case is 357 league-phase minutes, four goals, penalties and a home fixture against PSV.
Real Madrid's MD6 trip to Arsenal is difficult, so this is not the cleanest two-match run. It does not need to be. Mbappé is a premium captain for Tuesday and the safest route into the attack. Selling him after a six-point return at AEK, immediately before PSV at home, would be an overreaction.
Jude Bellingham is the midfield alternative at €8.5m. He has played 353 minutes and returned 11 points in Athens. I prefer Mbappé because the penalty role and forward slot simplify the decision, but Bellingham becomes useful for managers who already own two premium forwards or want a lower-cost Madrid route.
Arda Güler is the trap for now. His €6.5m price and 18 points look attractive, but 110 minutes across four matchdays do not support an early transfer. The fixture is excellent. The minutes are not.
Fabián offers the clearest Paris route
Paris scored six at Villarreal and host Roma next. Fabián Ruiz is the first midfielder I would buy from the group. He costs €6.5m, has 37 Fantasy points and has played 354 minutes. Four goals, one assist and 12 recoveries combine ceiling with a much stronger minutes base than several team-mates.
Vitinha is the steadier alternative. He is €7.5m, has 32 points, 344 minutes and 20 recoveries. Fabián is a better use of the budget today, but Vitinha's recovery route makes him less reliant on being the player who finishes the next Paris move.
João Neves and Désiré Doué both have major upside. They have also played 194 and 218 minutes respectively. Paris have enough quality to punish a transfer made solely because one midfielder scored 15 or 16 last time. Fabián's role is the reason to prefer him, not the last score.
Willian Pacho is the defensive route at €6.0m. He has played 334 minutes, made 26 recoveries and scored 20 points. Roma are a tougher opponent than AEK or Viking, so Ramón and Grimaldo remain better first defensive transfers, but Pacho is a credible hold.
Atlético defenders are the quieter fixture play
Atlético host Viking in MD5, then visit PSV in MD6. Their MD4 defeat by Bayern will suppress enthusiasm, which is precisely why the next fixture deserves a fresh assessment rather than an emotional sale.
Grimaldo is the attacking pick at €5.5m. He has 14 points, 301 minutes and 17 recoveries. The current total is modest, but the appeal is a favourable home fixture plus the potential for attacking returns.
Dávid Hancko is the safer value route. He costs €4.5m, has played all 360 minutes, made 20 recoveries and scored 16 points. If the squad needs a defender who can remain useful for two matchdays, I prefer Hancko to a one-night gamble on a more explosive wing-back.
Do not buy either before Atlético's domestic schedule and official team news are clearer. This is a fixture-first shortlist, not a claim that a clean sheet is guaranteed.
Five transfer calls to make now
- Buy later, shortlist now: Paz is the best first move, but there is no reward for committing almost three weeks before the deadline.
- Keep Mbappé: PSV at home is exactly the fixture for which the premium price is paid.
- Choose one Barcelona premium first: Yamal offers the safest minutes; Raphinha offers the more aggressive price and ceiling combination.
- Use Douvikas to reshape the squad: move from a premium forward only when the saving creates another meaningful upgrade.
- Avoid chasing MD4 substitutes: Mattia Liberali's 12 points came from 44 European minutes. One big return does not create a starting role.
The cleanest early transfer structure is Paz plus one premium captain. On Tuesday, Mbappé, Paz or Douvikas can carry the armband. On Wednesday, Yamal or Raphinha gives you the change if the first captain disappoints.
