Last week (as I warned might happen) I was forced into a last minute wildcard due to the sheer amount of injuries in my team. That said, it went pretty well. I scored 111 points and halved my rank - finally, some upward momentum!

For MD6 my hand has been forced once again by two key injuries in my team, Harry Kane and Christian Pulisic. Both players look pretty certain to miss out in MD6 but in many ways this fits my transfer planning anyway. I knew I HAD to get Saka in this week for his home match against Monaco (and another home game vs GNK Dinamo in MD7) and I was struggling to decide who I was going to move out - Pulisic was offered up as the sacrificial lamb. Beautiful.

Again, I knew I wanted to bring in either Julian Alvarez or Kai Havertz for their plumb fixtures but didn’t know for who. Thankfully Harry Kane’s hamstring went (sorry Harry) which made the decision for me.

Hopefully no more injuries become apparent in the next 24 hours before the deadline. One issue I will be keeping my eye on is the Liverpool team (5.45 KO therefore we will see the line-ups) and whether Salah starts or gets a rest. If he is indeed benched (I doubt he will be after the Everton game was postponed) then I will take a hit and potentially bring in either Bayern’s Musiala or double up on Arsenal by bringing in Odegaard.

Captain will be Salah on Tuesday and probably Saka on Wednesday. A bit boring, but we are still less than a third of the way through this competition and I just need to keep my upward momentum ticking along.
