ED’S TEAM - OR 33,746
Although I ended up with another green arrow in MD9 (three in a row now, finally some momentum), I ended up frustrated with 90 points. Not only did I not take my own advice and captain Dembele (I was trying to be a bit different to chase rank), I got blinded by the Kolo Muani woke mind virus that overtook large parts of the community and I therefore sold Guirassy. Annoying.
Had I stuck to my guns, once again, I’d be better off by around 14-16 points (depending on what subs I made) and broken 100 for the third time this season.
That said, a healthy green arrow to 33k keeps my momentum going as we storm past the halfway stage in the game (9/17 MD’s completed).

MD9 Team - 90 pts - Green Arrow
My issue (although a planned one) going in to MD10 is I currently only have 4/15 players competing on the Tuesday.
This is problematic as:
a) if they all return I will be reluctant to use my bench
b) I wont be able to sub any poor performers on the Wed, of which i’ll have at least 7.
The way i’m going to combat this is by planning my substitutes very carefully. The outfield players i’ll bench will be my two Juventus defenders and my least favourite Wednesday option. This will lessen the headache like a couple of paracetamol, but only the budget supermarket versions, not the branded expensive versions. It’ll have to do.
So, my two transfers this week are most likely going to be…

These two transfers will mean I have 5 players playing on the Tuesday (slightly better) and i’ll move back to the man I betrayed - Guirassy - for his home game vs Sporting.
If you’re reading this Serhou, i’m really sorry I doubted you.
I could take a hit and also bring in Vini Jnr (OR Mbappe!?) for Haaland, but I think both teams will score at the Santiago Bernabéu and I feel a -4 isn’t needed when Haaland is fit and can ALWAYS score. Alan Shearer recently said it will be a ‘miracle’ if Man City went through in Madrid, for once I disagree with my all-time footballing hero. Of course, Madrid are the clear favourites, but if Man City can score first I think it’s game on.
The alternative hit for me could be diluting my reliance on Wednesday defenders. Currently all 5 of my defenders play on the second day of the MD (3 PSG & 2 JUV), but I could take out Renato Veiga and bring in Benfica’s Tomas Araujo who plays Monaco at home on the Tuesday. Worth a hit? Currently I think no.
Let’s see what the next 24 hours brings…
